Kaushal Vidya Entrepreneurship, Digital & Skill University, Jharkhand is a statutory state public university established vide the Jharkhand Act No. 10 of 2022 to build a 21st-century workforce through modular, credit-based, industry-aligned vocational education.
Why it Matters?
Jharkhand faces a dual challenge: youth unemployment and skill mismatch. The Skill University addresses this by:
- Delivering demand-driven skilling in partnership with industry;
- Empowering underserved youth through digital and community-based models;

M.Tech. and Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering & Operational Research from IIT Kharagpur. He has served as Director of IIT Kharagpur, Chairman of AICTE, and Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India, bringing vast experience in higher education leadership, policy, and governance.
An IIT Madras alumnus with a Management degree from ISB Hyderabad and an executive education from Harvard Business School. He brings over two decades of experience across the Non-profit Impact sector, FMCG, and Management Consulting, with expertise in Labour Relations, Strategy, and Business Excellence.
With over three decades of leadership in higher education governance, he has served as Registrar at IIT Ropar, Nalanda University, Plaksha University, and Assistant Registrar at IIT Kanpur. He brings expertise in policy implementation, institutional operations, financial management, and accreditation processes. He holds an MBA and executive certifications from ABET, IEEE, NHRD, and NIFM.
Government of Jharkhand
Distinguished Alumnus of IIT Madras and Chairman & Managing Director, Saint-Gobain India. He has driven Saint-Gobain’s investment of over €750 million in India, creating a strong nationwide manufacturing presence. A former Chairman of CII Southern Region and elected Member of the CII National Council (2006–2019), he also played a key role in establishing the Indian Women Network (IWN) under CII.
Director at Air India Aviation Academy and former MD & CEO of AirAsia India, he brings over 35 years of leadership experience with the Tata Group. An IIT Delhi engineer and an IIM Calcutta MBA, he is also a member of the CII National Committee on Civil Aviation. He serves on several boards and committees of prestigious institutions.
Economist and former Director – Analytics, Insights & Impact at Tata Trusts, she works at the intersection of finance, innovation, and digital transformation. A Ph.D. in Economics from IIT Bombay and a Management graduate from XLRI, she has led large programs spanning business, philanthropy, academia, and government. She also serves on institutional boards and ministerial committees, and has been recognised among the Top 100 Analytics Leaders in South Asia..
Chief Project Officer at PReJha with over 30 years of experience across the not-for-profit sector, manufacturing, marketing, supply chain, product development, education, and government relations. He has worked closely with state and central governments on policy advocacy and project funding, including establishing ITIs and vocational training centres. He has leadership roles in CII National and Regional Committees on Skills, Higher Education, and Entrepreneurship.
